I feel your frustration as an applicant but I would implore you to think about it this way, checking and validating employability is at the heart of any successful recruitment process.
Employability can be defined simply as having a set of skills, knowledge, understanding and personal attributes to perform a role. Employers are therefore tasked with finding the best fit for their vacant jobs which would usually have been profiled in terms of what it takes to do the job well. It is important that you know that obtaining certificates and skills alone do not get you a job, going through the defined process to successfully showcase your skills are what gets you the job and you should endeavour to research what it takes to get the job of your dreams.
Aptitude tests are one of the several ways candidates can be validated as a good fit, others include assessment/development centres, competency-based assessment centres and psychometric assessments etc.
Every candidate is therefore advised to be schooled on the recruitment process for their desired job and ensure they are duly prepared ahead of time; this is the appropriate step to take. Most assessment tools can be accessed online for practice sessions and this is recommended. Candidates tend to fall short when their preparation is inadequate. With good practice, you are most likely to be okay.
Finally, don't get prejudiced about passing assessment tests, it helps when you engage with an open mind and trust the process.
I wish you all the best in your job search.
