Let me start by saying that changing jobs frequently can only be viewed as positive or negative when considered holistically in the context of the stage of your career and the reasons for the changes. It is therefore difficult to advise on an ideal time to spend on a job. It is, however, important to bear in mind that given the efforts and investments put into recruitment, development & engagement in the workplace, most employers would understandably be looking out for stability, commitment and depth which are all attributes of mutually rewarding relationships.
Spending brief stints in different jobs within a short period of time is referred to as "job-hopping, which one would expect would attract the attention of any recruiter on a CV. It is therefore important that as a candidate you are able to satisfactorily explain that your moves are well thought through and does not suggest any concerns with the attributes earlier noted. Essentially, you need to be open and honest with yourself when building and telling your career story.
You must never leave a 'would-be employer' with missing gaps in your employment story.
When considering a move, it is useful to ask yourself, if I was the employer would I have any concerns around the frequency of job changes on this CV?
I wish you all the best with your career moves.
